The Trustees of Essex Cancer Research and its Medical Advisory Board actively seek opportunities to support cancer research being undertaken in the county and are keen to support this in academic as well as clinical settings.

Dr Andrea Mohr, Lecturer at the University of Essex School of Life Sciences, coordinates and supervises MSc Students’ Cancer Research Projects. The charity awarded prizes totalling £500 for the 2021 projects judged to have made either:

  • material contributions to potential improvements in the diagnosis or treatment of cancer
  • actual improvements to the understanding of the presentation of cancer in the population of the county.The winners were judged jointly by representatives of the Essex School of Life Sciences Faculty, the Chair, and a serving Clinician on the Essex Cancer Research Medical Advisory Board, and the Chair and a Trustee of Essex Cancer Research.
