Fundraise in your community

Volunteer with us by getting involved in a fun community activity. You’ll be surprised just how many projects are happening in your area!

Fundraising Volunteers

Our fundraising volunteers are the friendly face of the Essex Cancer Research in their local communities. They raise awareness of heart and circulatory diseases and our work to tackle them. Most importantly, by raising money for the ECR ’s life saving research, they help keep hearts beating and blood flowing – keeping families together for longer.

We offer our volunteers:

  • The chance to meet new people, make friends and have fun
  • The opportunity to use existing skills and develop new ones
  • A worthwhile way to give your time in a flexible way that suits your lifestyle
  • Personal support and guidance from our local fundraising managers

We have a variety of roles and ways to get involved by giving your time on-going.

If you would like to find out more about volunteering in your community please email info@essexcancerresearch.co.uk and one of our team will be in touch. By emailing us you agree for us to contact you about volunteering in your community.

Our Fundraising Groups

Our thriving network of local groups organise events to raise money for vital research.
From bake sales and balls to bucket collections and barn dances, they plan and promote all sorts of fun events in their local communities to bring people closer to the Essex Cancer Research and raise money for our life saving research.

You can join one of our existing groups or form a new group of your own.

There’s also opportunity for group members to introduce us to local businesses, help with CPR training events and speak to other local clubs and associations about our work. All of this comes with the support of your local fundraising who can help guide you.

Individual Roles

If you’d prefer to volunteer in an individual role, an event or take on an additional role as well as belonging to your local group, one of these roles could suit you.

In Memoriam Secretary
Bank donations passed on by funeral directors from families of lost loved ones, and send a letter to the family where able to thank them kindly. It’s a sensitive role that requires good letter writing skills and record keeping.

Tin Collector
Tin collectors place collection tins around communities and collect tins once they’re full to bank money.

Speaker
If you enjoy speaking to small groups you could train to become a ECR speaker and give talks to local groups to tell them about our work and ways to support.

Whether you're interested in our groups, an individual role, or just want to find out more, please register your interest and someone from our Volunteering Team will be in touch. Thank you!
